Astro wins Climate KIC’s grant to power the next generation of energy intelligence.

Launch story

Astro is on a mission to make energy management feel simple, smart, and accessible for any organisation, not just energy experts. After being selected in October as winners of Climate KIC’s ClimaTech Connect 2025 grant, the team is using this milestone as the official launchpad for its product and community.

The grant comes from a Europe-wide programme supporting early-stage digital climate solutions, and it gives Astro the boost it needs to move faster on product development, and partnerships. For the team, it is not just funding – it is a signal that smarter, more user-friendly energy intelligence is urgently needed.

What Astro is building

Organisations are wasting money and energy every day simply because they cannot see clearly where, when, and why their energy is being used.

Astro is building an AI-driven energy intelligence platform that connects to existing meters and data sources to turn raw consumption data into clean, visual, and actionable insights.

Instead of dashboards that only specialists understand, Astro focuses on simple, practical guidance: spot anomalies, find quick wins, and plan long-term improvements without needing an in-house energy team. The goal is to help businesses cut costs, reduce emissions, and feel in control of their energy decisions, from day one.

About the Climate KIC program grant

ClimaTech Connect 2025 is a programme by Climate KIC, together with 28 Digital (former EIT Digital), designed to back early-stage startups using digital tech to tackle climate challenges. From a broad pool of European innovators, four teams were selected for grants of up to €25,000 plus mentoring, training, and access to a strong climate-tech network.

Astro was recognised for bringing advanced energy analytics to organisations that often lack the time, tools, or expertise to act on their energy data. With the support of Climate KIC, the team will focus on refining the product, scaling pilots into longer-term collaborations, and proving measurable energy and emissions savings for its customers.

A word from the team

"Companies are wasting money and energy because they don’t have the right tools to really understand their consumption, and they don’t know how to optimise it either. Our mission is to make energy management effortless, so our clients can focus on what they do best while still cutting costs, waste, and emissions at an affordable price."

— Miguel Ramírez, Chief Creative Officer at Astro

"We’re grateful for the trust and support from Climate KIC and everyone involved in ClimaTech Connect 2025. This grant is our starting line, not the finish – and we’re energized to build Astro together with our early partners and community."

— Rafael Arrebola, Astro CEO
